Governor Ademola Adeleke’s re-election as Osun State governor has drawn congratulatory messages from former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Anambra State governor Peter Obi, serving governors, political parties and other prominent figures across Nigeria.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Adeleke of the Accord Party winner after he secured 511,067 votes, defeating the APC candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who polled 444,815 votes. Adeleke won in 19 of Osun’s 30 local government areas, while Oyebamiji won 11.
Atiku congratulated Adeleke on what he described as a reflection of the choice of Osun voters at the ballot box, while Obi also hailed the outcome and commended voters for defending their democratic mandate peacefully.

President Bola Tinubu also congratulated Adeleke and urged him to use his renewed four-year mandate to unite Osun residents and deepen the state’s development, regardless of how they voted during the election.
The wave of congratulatory messages cuts across Nigeria’s political divide and comes after a closely watched election that featured intense campaigning and heightened political tension.

Adeleke’s victory secures him another four-year term after he first won the Osun governorship in 2022.
His latest mandate is expected to intensify attention on his administration’s performance, political alliances and relationship with the Federal Government as Nigeria moves towards the 2027 general elections.
