A second tragedy occurred at Kurna in Fagge LGA, where the Khadija Idris Bala Islamiyya School collapsed while nine students were inside.

Rescue teams pulled eight students alive from the rubble. The ninth, identified as 14-year-old Khadija Muhammad, was rescued unconscious but later died.

The Kano State Fire Service said investigations are ongoing to establish the causes of both collapses.

It urged property owners, contractors and construction workers to comply strictly with approved building standards and safety requirements, particularly during the rainy season.
