Spider-Man: Brand New Day” has delivered one of the biggest box office debuts in cinema history, taking in $927 million worldwide during its opening weekend and becoming Hollywood’s highest-grossing launch of 2026.

The latest installment in Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man franchise grossed $355 million in the United States and Canada and earned $572 million from international markets. It is the second-highest global opening weekend all time behind “Avengers: Endgame”.

The film, starring Tom Holland in his fourth solo adventure as Peter Parker alongside Zendaya, outpaced industry expectations driven by strong advance ticket sales, premium format shows, and enthusiastic viewer engagement.

It became Sony Pictures’ all-time highest-grossing opening weekend of any film in its history. China was the strongest international market for the film with nearly $121 million, while the pic performed strongly across Europe, Latin America and many other markets.

Analysts cited the performance as evidence that Spider-Man remains one of the most bankable film franchises globally, overcoming recent stumbles suffered by the genre, which typically performed well last year.
