Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu says her husband and current President of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu would be re-elected for a second term and when that happens, the traditional Akwete material would be worn for the celebration in 2027.

She said the woven fabric from Abia State, had been elevated due to its cultural value and needed to be showcased nationally and internationally so, I’d be thrilled to adorn an Akwete upon my husband’s 2nd term inauguration’.
This was contained in a press release for Mrs Tinubu and addressed to the Nigerian populace.

First Lady, Oluremi also lauded the locals who maintain this craft for hundreds of years, while admonishing them not to falter in this effort as such efforts help in celebrating culture as well as, growing Nigeria and its economy.
