Joint Task Force North West Operation FANSAN YAMMA (JTF NW OPFY) scores another victory against terrorists, rescues 13 kidnapped victims.
The troops of Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA (JTF NW OPFY) have inflicted another heavy blow on the terrorist groups in the North-West, Nigeria following successful intelligence led operations that rescued 13 kidnapped civilians in Anka and Kaura Namoda Local Government Areas of Zamfara State.

Military sources revealed that the initial successful operation, was conducted by the troops of Sector 2 in Bagega following a credible intelligence that armed terrorists moving on motorcycles were heading towards Tungan Kudaduku in Anka LGA. Troops utilising real-time surveillance to track the movement of the terrorist group and with superior fire power swiftly engaged the terrorists, who retreated abandoning their evil plot.
Subsequent clearance operation discovered a makeshift terrorist camp and led to the rescue of five abducted persons unhurt.
In a similar coordinated offensive at Ungwan Rogo, Kaura Namoda Local Government Area on credible information on the presence of terrorists, troops made contact and engaged the bandits in a gun battle that forced them to retreat, abandoning their captives and fleeing with injuries.

Eight other kidnap victims and two vehicles suspected to be in possession of the fleeing terrorists were recovered in the operation.
The rescued persons have been evacuated to appropriate authorities for medical attention. Meanwhile, troops maintain dominate presence in the operational areas through constant patrols, clearance operations and intelligence-driven operations with the aim to prevent the terrorists free movement and dismantling their criminal enterprises across the state.

The recent operation is in continuation of the offensive launched under Operation FANSAN YAMMA as part of joint efforts to neutralise the menace of terrorism, banditry and kidnapping within Nigeria’s North-West theatre of operations.
