Osun State Governor and Accord Party governorship candidate Ademola Adeleke has raised concerns over alleged attempts to disrupt or hijack collation centres as officials begin compiling results from Saturday’s governorship election.
Adeleke appealed to President Bola Tinubu to direct security agencies deployed for the election to protect the integrity of the collation process and ensure that votes cast by Osun residents are protected.
In a statement posted on X, the governor said reports of attempts by what he described as “desperate and rejected politicians” to disrupt collation centres were concerning, particularly given the heavy security deployment across the state.

He specifically urged the Nigeria Police Force, DSS, Nigerian Army and NSCDC to remain vigilant and ensure that collation centres are adequately protected.
Adeleke also claimed he had been informed of an alleged directive to withdraw security personnel from some polling units and collation centres, though this claim has not been independently established.
The governor called on INEC to maintain transparency throughout the collation process, insisting that the final result must reflect the genuine choice of voters.
The allegation comes amid heightened political tension surrounding the election.

Reports have also emerged of disputes at some polling units, including an incident in which suspected APC agents allegedly prevented INEC officials from counting Accord votes at the polling unit of former Osun governor Gboyega Oyetola.
However, Adeleke’s allegations of a broader plan to hijack collation centres remain unverified claims and should not be presented as established fact without confirmation from INEC or security authorities.
