A woman identified as “Arugba” has allegedly threatened voters in Osun State with physical harm if they cast their ballots for political parties other than the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Saturday’s governorship election.
In a video circulating online, the woman is heard warning residents against voting for opposition parties, allegedly saying that the finger used to vote against the APC would be cut off. She also reportedly told those unwilling to support the party to stay away from polling centres.

The remarks have heightened concerns over voter intimidation and political violence as Osun prepares for the August 15 governorship poll.
The alleged threat comes amid heightened political tensions and increased security deployment across the state ahead of the election. Authorities and political stakeholders have repeatedly urged candidates, supporters and voters to avoid violence and conduct capable of undermining the electoral process.
The identity, political affiliation and circumstances surrounding the video have not been independently verified beyond reports identifying the woman as “Arugba”. The comments attributed to her therefore remain allegations pending confirmation by relevant authorities.
