The news about the passage on Saturday after a brief illness of veteran Nigerian Juju and Highlife crooner and entertainer, Iyun Janet Oluwatoyosi Ajilore, popularly known and addressed as St. Janet brings an end to a showbiz career that made the deceased one of the most recognizable female voices in the live Juju music arena in Nigerian.

She passed away on Saturday after a short illness.

As of this post, further details as regards the actual cause of death and arrangement are yet to be made available by her grieving family who are currently in mourning.

It’s worthy of note that for decades St. Janet occupied a niche as Nigeria’s reigning queen of stage performances who had unique styles of rendering popular Juju and Highlife music especially at private social and high-brow party engagements.

The very flamboyant female act was always available to thrill Nigerians with very sensational performances that always attracted massive public goodwill for her unique party song styles and energetic and jovial on stage presentations.

Janet remained an exception to the rule as a female artiste who was the toast of many male Juju and Fuji musicians and regularly played on the same stage and parties.
