President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday received a delegation of traditional rulers from Oyo State, led by the Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, during a courtesy visit at the State House in Abuja.
The meeting brought together some of the state’s foremost monarchs and senior government officials, underscoring the longstanding relationship between the Federal Government and traditional institutions in promoting national unity, peace and grassroots development.

The royal delegation was led by the Olubadan of Ibadanland and included the Aare Ago of Ogbomoso, the Osi Olubadan, the Balogun of Ibadanland, the Onigbeti of Igbeti, the Alajawa of Ajawa, the Olugbon of Orile-Igbon and the Aseyin of Iseyin.
Also present at the meeting were the President’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila; Minister of Power, Joseph Tegbe; Chairman of the Nigerian Revenue Service, Dr. Zacch Adedeji; Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communications, Sunday Dare; and Mogaji Wole Arisekola.

Although details of the closed-door discussions were not immediately disclosed, the visit reflects the Tinubu administration’s continued engagement with traditional rulers, who play influential roles in community leadership, conflict resolution and support for government policies across the country.
Traditional institutions have remained key stakeholders in national development, with the Federal Government increasingly partnering with monarchs on issues relating to security, social cohesion, economic development and public enlightenment.
