Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), commanded the passing-out parade, telling the new soldiers that they were expected to maintain primacy in their duty as soldiers in such a role, and to adhere to the highest standards of discipline, professionalism and loyalty as they take up active military service.

“Today’s graduation is another stride towards ensuring the Army’s operational readiness and is part of the Federal Government’s ambitious plans to expand the size of its forces that have been hit by terrorism, insurgency, banditry, kidnapping and other acts of violence in the nation,” Shaibu said.

The exercise comes after the recent graduation of 850 recruits from the Depot Nigerian Army, Zaria, and Osogbo, Osun State training camp, which has seen the Nigerian Army keep increasing its force generating capacity, he added.
