Dangote Cement Posts ₦638.5 Billion Profit as Exports Jump 62%

The Cement business generated 638.5billion as profit after tax in H1 2026 due to robust export growths and steady demand across African operations despite an adverse operating environment.

Dangote Cement Plc in an unaudited financial report noted that “Exports from Nigeria grew by 62.3percent over H1 2026, as sustained and strong regional demands bolstered sales from Nigeria alongside the ongoing strategy to raise foreign exchange with higher exports via cross border trading.” The report added that “exports from Nigeria reinforced the company’s stature as a net exporter, supporting the Nigerian Federal Government’s aspirations towards increasing non-oil exports.”

The profit recorded in the company’s unaudited financial result were supported by growth in sales volume as well as the continued increase of operational efficiencies, coupled with high-end performances of core operating countries. Management said the company achieved these by continuing to optimize production while practicing disciplined and effective cost Management amidst risingInflation and exchange rate volatility

Management reported that expanded exports by the Company is aligned with its expansion in Logistics and production capacity to service the regional market more effectively “and cemented Nigeria as a Manufacturing hub to numerous African nations over the decades.”

The strong H1 performance is a consequence of continued execution of management strategy to increase market share through geographic expansion, enhancing operational efficiency and value to shareholders” the company management said noting the investments in energy and alternative fueled efforts “did contribute to better operating performance.

Analysts in the industry said “Nigeria’s Largest Cement producer’s impressive earnings confirm its resilience, driven largely by export performance which cushions risks in the domestic market and opens up new avenues, aligning with emerging opportunities under the African Continental Trade Agreement.”

Dangote cement remains as Africa’s largest cement manufacturer, a company with manufacturing companies spanning across several countries and with a Total installed production capacity of more than 50 million Metric tonnes per year.
