Two persons were confirmed dead in a road accident that occurred on Sunday evening involving a Lexus car and a motorcycle on the Leme axis of Abeokuta-Ibadan Expressway, Ogun State. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) blamed the crash on speeding.
Details from the Ogun State Sector Command of the FRSC stated that the crash happened at about 5:45 p.m. At a location near the Nigerian Breweries, involving a black Lexus with registration number KJA 398 JR and a black TVS motorcycle with registration number AYT 837 QU.
The accident involved a total of six adult males but two motorcycle occupants were confirmed dead while other victims were unhurt.

The FRSC spokesperson, Afolabi Odunsi, said FRSC rescue team was at the scene of the crash to rescue victims and also took the corpses to the State Hospital, Ijaye Mortuary, Abeokuta. He added that the scene was cleared after recovering belongings from the damaged vehicles and ensuring free flow of traffic.
In his reaction, the Ogun State Sector Commander, Oludare Ogunjobi, extended his sympathy to the families of the victims and called on motorists and motorcyclists to adhere to speed limits and traffic laws.

He pointed out that speed limits violations had continued to be one of the major causes of fatal road accidents as they decreased vehicle response time and increased the impact of crashes.
The FRSC advised the general public to immediately report road crashes and emergencies to FRSC on toll-free number 122 or the nearest patrol team.
