The Presidency has ordered the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) to also help investigate and prosecute alleged insiders who may have been involved in the ongoing Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) fraud that is rocking the nation.
The Presidency in a press release on Friday has pointed out that the size of the alleged operation meant that there was no need for the suspect to act alone, and noted that “security agencies should seek to expose anyone inside government circles who may have been involved in or assisted the operation”.

Again, the Presidency said the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) is not an agency, department or programme of the Federal Government and Nigerians should not take seriously anyone or any group purporting to act on its behalf.
It called the alleged operation a falsehood meant to mislead “the public by pretending to be on the President’s behalf”.
The statement has said investigators have been ordered to look at all aspects of the operation of Adeyemi Adeniyi Matthew, seek to trace the command structure of the alleged operation and find out if there is influence from any public official or other collaborators involved in the execution.

The Presidency also reminded the population to be wary of giving any organization a mandate to act on their behalf as a representative of the Federal Government until they have proved it was true.
Citizens were encouraged to alert relevant law enforcement and suspicious activities were to be reported.
It reiterated the Tinubu administration’s pledge to transparency, accountability, and keeping Nigerians safe from fraudulent dealings, promising the populace that those responsible for the fraud would be met by the full rigour of the law following investigations.
