The Governor of Osun, Engineer Mr. Ademola Adeleke has appealed Nigerians to come out in large numbers to vote on ticking off the Governor they prefer at the governorship elections in August 15th to come to Osun, so that they should exercise their statutory rights through the electoral process to shield their votes.
Adeleke made the appeal amidst political activities that have stepped up in various parts of the state as both parties make bids for votes ahead of the long-awaited elections.
A governor urged eligible voters to vote peaceably and monitor polling stations, urging all voters to ensure that their votes are properly counted and reflected in the final result.
The call comes after Osun is experiencing more political tension, as candidates from opposing political parties have been accused of commencing intimidation, political maul and destruction of campaign materials in the lead up to the elections.

This also emphasizes the role of each voter to engage in the electoral process and not stay on the sidelines. He challenged residents not to engage in any actions which may disrupt the peaceful holding of the poll.
Security agencies and electoral bodies have made further preparations for the elections, the Nigeria Police Force has added more security personnel as warning was issued by the police to political players against electoral violence and meddling in the elections.
The highly competitive election of Aug. 15 will see Adeleke, who is up for re-election, contesting for re-election with other contenders. The result shall be the political future of Osun state for the next four years.
The first concern of the voters is that they would be able to vote in a peaceful manner without any chances of intimidation and their votes are getting recorded properly.

The message of Adeleke occurs in the midst of campaigns being in their final stage, and a growing focus is on voter mobilisation, polling-group security and the public’s confidence in the final result being accurate and fair.
