Hadi Sirika, former Aviation Minister, described late former president Buhari as a leader whose best legacy was his determination to improve the welfare of the common Nigerians saying that late president was focused on public service all through his years in office.
The former Minister while reminiscing about President Muhammadu Buhari’s leadership and national contribution said Buhari always centered the welfare of common Nigerian, not minding the challenges facing the country in the area of economy, security, and governance.

In Sirika’s narration, Buhari was disciplined and had personal integrity, believing that government ought to champion the interests of common Nigerians above political comfort and had maintained and protected public accountability and the nation’s resources throughout his leadership days.
Sirika however lauded the ex-President’s resilience to expand key infrastructure nationwide particularly within the transport sector.
According to him, the contributions and investments made on airports, roads, railways among other critical infrastructure facilities were meant to spur economic development and improve interconnectivity within the country.

He said that Buhari was a leader that truly believed in the unity of the country and in institutional building, noting that many policies initiated under his leadership were geared towards building robust institutions for future National progress as opposed to any political expediency.
Sirika also attributed Buhari’s modest way of life to public trust, saying it contributed to his image of a credible leader who was truly committed to public service as it ensured his broad appeal.
His assertion followed tributes to Buhari from politicians and well-meaning Nigerians after his passing on July 29th at age 81, reflecting on his decades of service to Nigeria as a military head of state, democratic president, and statesman.

Sirika extended his condolences to Buhari’s family, praying that God rest his soul and asking Nigerians to remember him for his patriotism, sacrifices, and dedication to the country’s development.
