Professor Jason Arday Dies Suddenly in London at 41

Professor Jason Arday, a prominent British sociologist and academic, has died unexpectedly at the age of 41 at an address in Battersea, London.

The Metropolitan Police said officers were called by the London Ambulance Service at about 3:12 p.m. following reports of an unresponsive man. A 41-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Arday’s next of kin have been informed and are receiving support from police officers.

The Met said the death is currently being treated as unexpected but not suspicious. Officers from the force’s Central South Command Unit are investigating the circumstances, with a report to be prepared for the coroner.

Arday was widely recognised for his academic work on race, inequality, social mobility and higher education. He became one of the youngest professors in the UK and held senior academic positions at leading British universities.
